Here you may find walk routes for Leicestershire, Rutland, and even some for other counties! They will be split into categories later, but for now, I have just put links to them here. I am a bit behind with the map-drawing, so please forgive me. You can find 1:50,000 maps at www.multimap.com. However, if you really enjoy walking, why not get yourself down to the Map Shop in Leicester (30a Belvoir Street).

If you could submit a walk, we would of course be grateful... I am going to set up a submit form, but until then, please send me an email - info@leicesterwalk.co.uk containing the route, and the other information which you can see in most of the walks below.

6 Saltersford and Sence Valleys Willesley, nr Ashby, Leics Very long walk around the National Forest, between Willesley and the Sence Valley Forest Park.
7 Cossington and Canal Cossington, Nr Leicester A short walk along the sides of the Rivers Soar and Wreake and the Grand Union Canal.
8 Ulverscroft Priory Ulverscroft, Near Markfield A short walk, offering great views across Charnwood. By G. Thomas.
9 Broombriggs and the Beacon Loughborough A longish walk, with great views across the county, climbing to the top of Beacon hill from Loughborough.
10 The Wolds and Soar Valley Loughborough

A 15 mile hike from Loughborough, across the wolds to Wymeswold, Walton and back through Barrow by G. Thomas.
11 The Langtons Thorpe Langton, Near Market Harborough A 7 mile walk visiting each of the Langton Villages. This walk incorporates part of the Leicestershire Round.
12 Thornton Reservoir Walk 2 (Thornton and Whittington Grange) Thornton, Leicestershire A 7.5 mile walk, starting at the reservoir and walking across the surrounding countryside.
13 Gaddesby and Brooksby Gaddesby, between Syston and Melton An 8.5 mile walk around the Wolds and the Wreake Valley.
14 Thornton Reservoir Walk 3 (Thornton and Bagworth Park) Thornton, Leicestershire A 5 mile walk from Thornton to Bagworth.
15 Ashby Magna, Peatling Parva Ashby Magna, Leicestershire A 10 mile walk in South Leicestershire
16 Groby and Glenfield Groby, just off the A50, 5 miles NW of Leicester A 6 mile walk incorporating Groby and Glenfield, and including a section of the old Leicester to Swannington Railway.
