Walk out of The Tentas onto the main
road, and turn right. Take the footpath on your left. Keep left along it,
ignoring all turns on the right, until you reach Stondon Lane. Here turn
right, then take the first path on the left.
When the footpath meets another path,
turn right, then bending round t the left, and walking across fields. At the
T junction of paths, turn right, towards the village of Osgasthorpe. The
footpath emerges on a track. When you meet the road, ignore the turn
immediately on your right but go almost straight on along the main village
sreet into the village centre.
Follow this road round past the pub, and
ignore the turn off to the right (Sparrow's Road). Take the next road
(towards the church) on the right. Opposite the church, turn left onto a
footpath. Where the footpaths cross, turn right, and then right again at a
junction. At the fork, turn right.
At Ashby Road turn left and walk along it
(with care) for just under 1km, until you reach a footpath on the right.
Take this path, turning right when you reach a road, and walking back
into Osgasthorpe. After the church, turn left. Then take the first left
(Sparrow's Road). After about 100m, take the footpath on your right.
Keep on this path until you reach the
Ashby Road. Here turn right, along Stondon Lane. (or walk along road for
100m to pub if you require refreshments, before returning to route). Then
turn left opposite the junction onto a footpath. At the A512, turn right,
following the footpath round to the right, and back towards Griffydam.
At the crosspaths, turn left, and then
keep going on this footpath (part of the Ivanhoe Way) until you reach the
road. Turn right, and look out for the path down to the left. Follow this
path until you reach another road. Then, take the path on the right, heading
up towards the start on The Tentas.

Griffydam is a peaceful village,
built on a steep hillside. It is an interesting place to take a walk around.
However, the lanes through the village are VERY narrow, so please park
considerately... we usually park on the first road on the left if you enter
the tentas from the top road.
I hope you enjoy this walk, if you have any comments,
please see FEEDBACK below.
